If you've joined a few groups, you probably are already familiar with this kind of gateway, but if it's new - here are the reasons why there's a delay.
How I verify
You sign up to the site using one of the forms. If you're signing up to access specific content you can sign up more than once as I send different emails depending on what you're interested in. You only need to go through the verification process once though.
I'll send you a DM on your chosen platform from my official account. If that gets banned for any reason, I'll send you an email letting you know the shadow account I'm using. It may or may not include the word Whore depending on the platform. Gotta be discreet you know!
When you reply via DM, I then activate your subscription on the site and you can access our Industry posts and the Calendar, as well as any specific content you may have signed up to.
There's also a Clients section for those who have signed up to one of our services which provides extra free content which deep dives into various topics as well as guides on how to use our services. Thank you for your patronage!
There's also Coalition access for those who are in the sector, but not workers. I believe it's important to work with others who are working on our behalf, but there's some stuff which I think is better remains just for us. (nb What White People Can Do Next is the reason I use the word coalition rather than ally. Read it, it's a great book.)
If you're a worker without a social media account, just send me an email and we'll work something else out.
Why I verify
Privacy and Safety
There are tools out there that keep us safe. Part of the reason they work is that clients don't know about them so they can't hack, deconstruct or play the system.
While there are loads of lovely people out there, some are not.
There are also a bunch of Rescuer types on the internet that we would prefer keep to themselves and they don't need to know about our shit.
Allure
People use marketing tricks all the time, but I'm sure you've had clients who have asked you for your real name and want to believe that what you have together is genuine.
I'm not saying it's not, but when it comes to sexuality some people already struggle with the fact they have to pay for it, so we don't want them reading about how to upsell, how to keep them coming back and other perfectly normal industry standard stuff that somehow people think is vulgar when applied to any of the human connection sectors (I'm looking at you wellness and spirituality!)
Keeping it real
I like to produce content for you. Educating the mainstream is something I'm interested in - but I don't want to have to do it all the time, and in the Industry section I just want to jump straight in and solve problems, rather than have to explain to the public the context. You know what it's like. I know what it's like, let's not waste paragraphs, our time is precious.
In Summary
So yeah, sorry it takes a little extra time and effort, but by verifying that you're a worker before letting you in, we can ensure that things stay in the community that need to stay in the community and I hope we're a little safer that way.
